Welcome!

Visiting a new church can seem like the first day at a new middle school - like everyone is watching to catch you when you do something stupid. There are reasons for that, and we try to avoid such pitfalls by teaching "Salvation by grace alone" according to God's Word. The point of "church" is not for everyone to look their best or to earn a pat on the back. The point is to gather for worship because the God who made us and redeemed us is worthy of it, and He has called us to do it.
The point of "church" is not for everyone to look their best or to earn a pat on the back.
That word - WORSHIP - it can feel strange in our mouths, but it shouldn't. We were made for worship, after all. And when we come together to worship the living God, we aren't in competition with 100,000 other groups trying to get His attention. We are joined with many of them, along with the heavenly host and all of God's people who have gone before us. Together we worship because there is only one church - all who belong to Christ, in every place and through all ages of time.
Are we doing it right? Well, what we must do is given to us in God's Word - the Bible. Certainly, technology has progressed and cultures have shifted since the 1st century church, and we have to wrestle with how these things fit into God's command for us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. But we're not alone in that fight, nor even on the front lines. Every age of the church has faced the same questions, and if we would take the example of our forebears, we must hold fast the truth and call innovation to bend the knee in service to the Creator of all things.
[W]e're not alone in that fight, nor even on the front lines. Every age of the church has faced the same questions...
No one is inviting you to "check us out." If you want to check out a bunch of people, the lobby of any tire and lube shop will do. But you are invited to worship with us. And it doesn't matter who you are. We all come from different backgrounds and have different hobbies, varying political and social opinions, and a range of ideas on non-essential doctrines of the church. We are truly united only by our great salvation. The rest is just what it looks like while we are being conformed to the image of the Son of God, our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
