This Sunday we began taking a break from our study of Ephesians, focusing instead on Numbers 21:4-9 (and naturally ending up in John 3:14-15). We heard that as God once showed his people mercy in delivering them from sin and death for a time through a bronze serpent, so today he shows sinners similar, yet greater mercy in delivering us from sin and death for all time through Jesus Christ his Son. This Sunday we directed our attention to the punchy declaration of praise at the end of Ephesians 3, ascribing glory to the God who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or think. You may listen to the audio of the sermon in the player below, or download the mp3 file here.
This Sunday we reflected on the second half of Paul's petition at the end of Ephesians 3, where we hear him ask the Father to strengthen his fellow believers so that Christ might dwell in their hearts that they, being rooted and grounded in love, might know the love of God and ultimately be filled with all the fullness of God.
