join us in prayer

Pray for Shelby's Current Health. Shelby is doing very well in her recovery. She is in good spirits and is thankful for all our prayer and support. Please continue to pray as she endures the physical rigors of relearning so much of what most of us take for granted.
Shelby's mailing address:
Shelby Breedlove c/o Cary Breedlove
583 S Deerfield Dr.

Canton, MS. 39046

Pray for the new Adult Sunday School study. We are continuing to study the Theology of the Carols until after Christmas Day. Starting in January we are trying to implement a new format and schedule. Please pray for wisdom.

Praise & Pray for Matt Young's uncle. Dean Young is back in the home of the of Chip & Sandy Young. He has improved. He has resumed chemo-therapy, which is rigorous.

Pray for wisdom as we proceed with plans to replace the roof at the church.

Pray for Jon and Michelle as they undertake the development of their property in Atkins.  Plumbing, concrete, septic, water, and electricity are all in the works. Please pray for good weather, favor with contractors, and the Lord's continued provision. The price tag on some of the jobs has been more than expected. God's timing is perfect and we wait on Him for all things.

Praise the Lord for Women's Bible Study.

Pray for upcoming Fellowship Work Day (Jan 8th)

Pray for the outreach opportunity of Contra Dancing.
Every second Saturday this year, Covenant Presbyterian Church will either host or support the Contra Dancing "shindig" organized and led by Cynthia Callahan.

Pray for the children in our church family. Pray for the children in our church as they encounter challenges at school and in their communities. Our children are: Luke, Micah, Ella Cantu; Christian, Cruz, Francesca, Rosalina, Victor Franco; Catherine & Elijah Litterst; Chloe, Sophie, Eli, Jacob Rose;  Adelyn, Ephraim, Asher, Rhett Sargent; and Emilie, Nathalie, and Sebastien Young. PTL!

Pray for Louise Ferguson. Louise is facing many challenges in a very troubled situation in South Africa. Pray for her spiritual encouragement and physical healing of a spinal injury. Although her ticket back to the US has been purchased, recent restrictions due to another COVID strain have delayed her travel yet again.

Juan's surgery: His surgery may be done as early as January 6th! Please pray for this to happen according to God's will and providence.

Rogelio's health needs: Rogelio's rehabilitation continues with encouraging signs of improvement.

Continue to pray for Stan and John Soltau:  Their progress has been fitful. There are many steps that remain to be taken for their return to behavioral / physical /spiritual health and independence.

Pray for Marian Whittington's granddaughter, Lilah.  She is receiving counseling for issues related to the death of her father.

Pray for all who are traveling during the holidays.

Pray for Nisa.
She has been diagnosed with small-cell carcinoma, a very aggressive cancer of the lung.  Please pray for her to have peace, security, and hope in the days to come. Also pray for wisdom for those who will help care for her during treatment, recovery, and thereafter.

Pray for the implementation of new digital technology in the church.  Praise the Lord for the purchases that have been made. We recently got sound back in the nursery. The final steps involve the streaming service, and stable streaming requires better internet.

News & updates

Contra Dancing is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month this year. Unless otherwise posted, CPC will host in the Fellowship Hall.

The next Fellowship Work Day is currently scheduled for January 8th, between 8am-1pm. We need a plan for breakfast and lunch. Please volunteer to administrate if that is your gift. Otherwise, Pastor Sargent will be in charge of it, and that's on you.

A volunteer is needed for monitoring the camera (starting/stopping, and checking to make sure it's working). Training provided. Must have a smartphone and show up 10 minutes before service.

We have received a bid for having our lighted sign repaired and a very large banner put on our north-facing wall. The elders will make a decision about this soon.

The knitted throws on the pews in the sanctuary are for whomever needs one during service. Please use them. If you do use one, please place it underneath the rear-most pew so it can be cleaned. If you should fall in love with the excellent craftsmanship, one may be taken home for a suggested donation of $20. Proceeds go toward more yarn.
